Walkers are Welcome

About Kington Walks and Kington Walking Festival

Bunting 6-9-05 09 pan

To promote sustainable tourism and to help to preserve Kington's unique atmosphere, in 2011 the Chamber of Trade, with support from Herefordshire Council and Kington Town Council, established Kington Walks. Kington Walks is a committee made up of enthusiastic walkers, representatives of local businesses and accommodation providers, which successfully applied for 'Walkers Are Welcome' status for the town in 2011, and which now brings you our second annual Walking Festival.

In addition to the walks programme we have a number of ancillary events. You could learn navigation skills from Kevin Walker or listen to a talk sponsored by the History Society about Cider Making in Herefordshire. There will also be talk by Rob Dingle, the officer in charge of Offa's Dyke about his work and the Dyke. Be sure not to miss the award winning John Jones of Oysterband fame and friends concert at the Burton Hotel on Saturday.
